As a school we are aiming for our whole school attendance to be higher than 95%. Please send your child into school every day. If they say they feel unwell, please check the NHS guidance for keeping them off school (this can be found on our website under Key Information, Attendance, Absence and how to report them)

Discretionary Leave

Discretionary Leave

Parents/Carers are not entitled to leave of absence for their children for holidays in term time.   A discretionary leave of absence form can be signed and submitted to the headteacher.  These must be completed and sent to school for consideration with at least two weeks’ notice.

The headteacher will only grant a leave of absence to a pupil during term time if they consider there to be 'exceptional circumstances'. A leave of absence is granted at the headteacher’s discretion, including the length of time the pupil is authorised to be absent for.

If there are no exceptional circumstances, the absence will not be authorised. As per the Attendance policy, the

threshold is 10 sessions or more in a rolling 10-week period for schools to consider requesting the LA issues a penalty notice on behalf of the school.
