Modern Foreign Languages Intent

The intent of our MFL curriculum is to develop within our children the ability to read, write and speak in a Modern Foreign language. Learning a language other than one’s first language has a number of benefits including:

• Developing positive attitudes towards difference
• Gaining an improved understanding of their own language
• Improved communication skills
• Improving listening skills and memory
• Foreign languages open the door to Art, Music, Dance, Fashion, Cuisine, Film, Philosophy, Science – and more
