Dates and Deadlines – Primary Schools Appeals
21st May 2025 Deadline for on-time appeals | Appeals will be accepted after this deadline but they may be heard at a later date than appeals lodged on time. |
6th June – 19th June 2025 Notice of hearing information issued for appeals lodged on time | For appeals lodged on time, notice of appeal hearing date and time should be issued in this time period. |
23rd June – 4th July 2025 Appeal hearings will take place | All appeals lodged before the deadline of 21st May 2025 will take place by the end of 4th July 2025. |
26th June 2025 Notice of hearing for late appeals (VA, Free Schools and Academies) | For appeals lodged after the deadline of 21st May 2025*, notice of hearing date and time should be issued by this date wherever possible. |
w/c 7th July 2025 Late appeal hearings will take place (VA, Free Schools and Academies) | Hearings for appeals lodged after the deadline of the 21st May 2025 will take place by the end of 11th July 2025. |
3rd July 2025 Notice of hearing for late appeals (LA Community) | For appeals lodged after the deadline of 21 May 2025, notice of hearing date and time should be issued by this date wherever possible. |
w/c 14th July 2025 Late appeal hearings will take place (LA Community) | Hearings for appeals lodged after the deadline of 21st May 2025 will take place by the end of 18th July 2025. |
w/c 4th August 2025 school holiday appeals** | Hearings for appeals lodged after the deadline for 21st May 2025* but received before 11th July 2025 will take place by the end of 8th August 2025. |
*Appeal hearings for all appeals lodged after the 21st May 2025 will be heard with the on time appeals wherever possible. If they cannot be heard with the on-time appeals, they will be heard within 30 school days of the date the appeal is lodged. In some circumstances, this may mean appeals for the September intake will be heard after the school’s summer holidays. We will endeavour to stick to the above dates wherever possible, however please be aware that these dates may be subject to change depending on the numbers of appeals received. Appeal hearings are heard in a hybrid format.
**Please note that due to school closures this week only applies to community schools.
