As a school we are aiming for our whole school attendance to be higher than 95%. Please send your child into school every day. The Importance of Mini Vinnies

At Holy Souls, we are proud to have our own Mini Vinnies group, a children’s branch of the St Vincent de Paul Society. This initiative empowers our pupils to live out the Catholic values of compassion, service, and social justice, by reaching out to those in need within our local community and beyond.

Mini Vinnies offers our children a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on acts of kindness, promoting the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the Option for the Poor and Vulnerable and the Dignity of the Human Person. Through their involvement, pupils not only help those who are less fortunate but also grow in empathy, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of their faith in action.

Each of these projects helps our children put their faith into action, allowing them to experience first-hand the joy of serving others, just as Jesus did.

Why Is Mini Vinnies Important?

Participating in Mini Vinnies is more than just helping those in need—it’s about growing in empathy and understanding. When our pupils see the struggles of others and take active steps to help, they are developing a deeper sense of social responsibility, learning the importance of solidarity, and embracing their role in the broader community.

In addition, being part of Mini Vinnies fosters the dignity of the human person as our students recognise that everyone deserves to be treated with love, respect, and care. It also provides them with a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on those around us, creating a ripple effect of goodwill and compassion.

Through Mini Vinnies, we are not just preparing our pupils to be future leaders. We are helping them become active disciples of Christ, living out the Gospel in practical ways and working to make the world a more just and caring place for all.

Making a Difference Together

At Holy Souls, we are committed to helping our children become the hands and feet of Christ in the world. Through Mini Vinnies, we are teaching them that every person can make a difference. Whether it’s a small gesture of kindness or a larger community project, our students are learning the power of service and the importance of giving back.

We are proud of the work that our Mini Vinnies group does, and we invite all of our pupils to take part in this meaningful ministry, as together we continue to grow in faith, hope, and charity.

Our Mini Vinnies consists of 8 pupils from KS2 who all have a vital role to play in enhancing the Religious Life of Holy Souls School.

The Mini Vinnies work hard to promote our Catholic faith in school, but they are also a wonderful link between the school and our Parish.

The Mini Vinnies help lead Masses and Liturgical events, delivering whole school morning worship and take part in various joint Catholic School events.
