Love one another as I have loved you

Catholic Life and Mission

Mission Statement

“To love one another as I have loved you”

is at the heart of our Mission Statement.

Holy Souls is a place where we share our life in Christ, in the growing knowledge that Jesus loves us. Our school is a place where everyone is able to feel welcomed, valued, secure, loved and happy. Everyone who comes into our school will be treated with respect and valued as a unique member of our school family. We take pride in the achievements of our school because it is a celebration of the development of the talents God has given us.

Our Mission Statement is displayed as a school flower which is prominently displayed in classrooms, in the school hall and the entrance to the school.  Its values create the catholic, caring ethos that makes our school so special.

How to Pray using the Rosary beads

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen

What a special day we had in school on Thursday! Greg, from ‘Mark 10 Mission’ came to spend the day with us. We started our day with a whole school liturgy, led by Greg – during this time our children listened well, answered questions, prayed reverently and sang beautifully. Greg then went on to visit each class where he shared a bible story with the children, which they then reflected on and thought about what the story said to them. Do have a look at the Mark 10 Mission website – regardless of your faith – I’m sure you will find it interesting and it certainly brings prayer to life, and helps to deepen our children’s understanding.

A few Mini Vinnies delivered food parcels from the SVPV society to the Salvation Army

The children from Years 3 and 4 sang their hearts out at the SVP Christmas lunch today. The parishioners joined in with the Carols. It certainly got everyone into the Christmas spirit

BIG Lent Walk for CAFOD

Our school Chaplains visited Saint Edwards’s RC Primary school to take part in a Lent Liturgy with the other Chaplains in our SIG group. We planned a liturgy together and worked with children from the different schools. It was a very uplifting and spiritual experience for us all
