As a school we are aiming for our whole school attendance to be higher than 95%. Please send your child into school every day. If they say they feel unwell, please check the NHS guidance for keeping them off school (this can be found on our website under Key Information, Attendance, Absence and how to report them)

Biodiversity

Butterflies in our common home: As part of work on helping our ecosystems, the Year 2 and Year 4 children raised their own adult butterflies. The children watched them grow and thrive from small caterpillars to chrysalis and then into beautiful butterflies. The classes discussed how important the butterflies are in contributing to a healthy planet through acting as vital pollinators of plants, being an indicator of the health of our environment, and how they contribute to the overall biodiversity of an ecosystem. Once the butterflies were ready for release, the two classes gathered together on the playground. A Year 4 child wrote a prayer and together we prayed for our planet, for the safety of our butterflies and for the help they will give to our ecosystems. We sang together ‘Our God is a great big God’ as we set the butterflies free. We waved them goodbye and wished them a good life as they left us.
