Reading Intent
The intention of the reading curriculum is to recognise that reading is essential to discover new facts but also opens them up to a world of new ideas, stories, imaginative feats and opportunities. At Holy Souls we are committed to ensuring that all children are exposed to a wealth of books, become independent and fluent readers who develop a love of reading and develop higher order comprehension skills and vocabulary. Offering a sequenced and progressive reading curriculum to ensure that all children are nurtured and supported at every step of their reading development as children progress through school and beyond.
